Trail Half Marathon Wales

Set within the beautiful grounds of Margam Park in South Wales, the Trail Half Marathon Wales offers runners a chance to explore one of the region’s most scenic country estates.  The route winds through woodland trails, open parkland and rolling hills, with views stretching across the South Wales coastline towards the Gower.  Passing through the historic deer park and beneath the impressive country house, the course combines natural beauty with a real sense of adventure.

Designed as an accessible introduction to trail running, the race is fully marked with minimal kit requirements, making it ideal for runners new to the trails.  The route is challenging enough to feel like a genuine achievement, yet very achievable for anyone ready to step off the road and experience the satisfaction of exploring somewhere special on foot.

Trail 10k Wales

The Trail 10k Wales is a fantastic way to experience the trails of Margam Park in a shorter, fast and friendly event.  The route takes runners through woodland paths and open parkland, with sweeping views across the South Wales coast and glimpses of the beautiful surrounding countryside.  Running through the famous deer park and past the historic Margam country house adds to the atmosphere of this unique setting.

Perfect for first-time trail runners or anyone looking for a fun off-road challenge, the course is fully marked and requires minimal kit. It’s a race that feels adventurous without being intimidating — the kind of run that leaves you feeling like you’ve truly explored the landscape and achieved something worthwhile.

Please be at the start line 10 minutes before the race start.

Car Parking

Car parking is at race HQ at East gate of Margam park. 

The car park opens at 0715

Car parking is included in the cost of the event.

Kit

The following kit must be carried throughout:

• Bottle or plastic cup if water is required from checkpoints
• Phone with race HQ number on
• Headwear suitable for conditions (warm hat, sun hat or trail revolution buff)
• Waterproof top (if the forecast is poor)
